POSTPONED Launch Party | Urban Playground: What Kids Say About Living in San Francisco by Katie Burke
April 26 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Note that this event has been postponed until further notice due to concerns for the health and well-being of our staff and customers. Thank you for your understanding, and please check back for a rescheduled date.
In Urban Playground: What Kids Say About Living in San Francisco, fifty San Francisco kids, ages five to nine at the time of their interviews, tell readers about their lives in the city, through the lens of ten themes: family, food, heroes, holidays, pets, school, sports, talents, vacations, and work. In these pages, these kids reveal everything from who lives at home with them to their career aspirations. They also share what thrills them about living in San Francisco and what they think the bummers are. Katie Burke says she wrote the book because she loves hearing what kids have to say about the city she shares with them. The kids keep her laughing and thinking, and they really touch her heart. Katie writes “Noe Kids,” a monthly column for The Noe Valley Voice, featuring children who live in San Francisco’s Noe Valley neighborhood. Her other publications include HarperCollins, the L.A. Times, and KQED Perspectives. Join Katie as she celebrates the launch of Urban Playground with a party at Folio Book—all are welcome!
